What Sets Us Apart

Our  MONTESSORI PRE-SCHOOL guarantees the delivery of the world renowned Montessori Curriculum and its “exponential Learning Ethos”, this has been in great demand by local parents/carers. In some cases Parents have secured a space ahead of their Childs birth as well as return parents securing spaces for siblings.

Since the launch in 2018 we have already experienced great success with preparing children for primary school entry as well as Dulwich & Bellenden prep school entry tests to resounding success, you can read about this in our parent's testimonials section along with so many other exceptional comments.

After 30 years of childcare experience at varying levels, including pioneering award winning Youth & Child development initiatives and parenting programs in London boroughs as well as throughout Kent, the directors decided to take their passion for nurturing the next generation to the next level. Opening a one-room nursery in the heart of Camberwell Green, Southwark drawing on all their experiences including the valuable experience gained as young parents whilst raising their 5 children and supporting the development of 6 of their own grandchildren.

Our Brief History

Fast forward several successful years and the nursery has grown substantially, now encompassing two locations totalling eight well equipped rooms of which two are pre-schools. The nursery group now provides exceptional care for up to 150 children and babies ranging from 3 months to 2 years, toddlers and preschoolers from 2 to 5 years.

Both of the nursery sites are well-equipped for delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework in stimulating and engaging ways. Both Nurseries have large internal gardens, the children have opportunities for growing vegetables and fruit. There is also a plethora of bright and interesting outdoor toys and equipment. The children get the opportunity to explore their local community with visits to the local library as well as local park.

The rooms in both locations have been designed and developed with exploration and play in mind, aiming to enhance the learning experience, they are kitted out with state of the art natural wood furniture & features to neutralise the environments to reduce overstimulation which can unsettle some children, acquired from Community Plaything the number 1 provider of ergonomically designed furniture for day care settings.

The Northover Fruit Tree Day Nursery has 2 large gardens for outdoor education and play, including a mud-kitchen and a large Wendy house. Our sites are fully central heated, with plenty of natural daylight and fresh air, plus a large fully-equipped kitchen for the preparation of healthy and nutritious meals and wholesome snacks on each site.

Our nurseries are known for their vibrancy & nurturing family atmosphere. We also have a great schedule of events throughout the year, each September our pre-school children, complete with graduation gowns celebrate the graduation from Nursery to Primary School transition. Many of the children who graduate will have been with us since birth, and it is a pleasure to be a part of their development and then see them onto the next stage of their lives. Our events and parent meetings harbour an inclusive environment where each child’s family is valued and made to feel part of the Fruit Tree Day Nursery community.
